D’Ollone Collection
The archives held by the descendants of the composer Max d’Ollone (1875-1959) were digitised by the Palazzetto Bru Zane in 2025. The hundreds of documents collected give access to almost the entire catalogue of this little-known composer, while also providing precious information about him. They include his music scores (published or manuscript) and opera librettos (some still in draft form), written publications (books, articles, lecture transcripts, brochures, etc.) and personal writings, photographs, concert and other programmes, his press releases, student exercises, some of his reports on music teaching, excerpts from his correspondence, and archival material relating to his work at the Paris Conservatoire and the Opéra-Comique. They reveal an artist who was sensitive and idealistic, and whose contribution to music history has undoubtedly been too hastily dismissed.
The collection is currently being made available online.
